Mir Khan Moqori

Mir Khan Moqori is a national heartthrob, a musician and a vocalist, son of the late well known Afghan poet, singer and compositor Abdullah Moqori (passed away on June 21 2021) found his way to the familiar scene of music and entertainment, when he was introduced by the renowned Afghan artist and his mentor, Farhad Darya in 2007. Subsequently through his wisdom and guidance, Mir Khan became his one and only student set to follow in his footsteps.

Synopsis

Born on March 15 1988 in Kabul, Afghanistan, Mir Khan has come from very humble beginnings and is growing up to become one of the biggest names in the industry. As the 4th child of our national singer Abdullah Moqori, Mir has always been surrounded by artists, however as the only musician among the siblings, he lives and breathes music.

Early Life and Career

Artist, Mir Khan was born on March 15, 1988, in Kabul, Afghanistan. As the second son and fourth child of the family, Khan “was a really quiet child and did not show any signs of musical talents” as told by his dad. Khan himself has mentioned on numerous occasions “I was an extremely shy and sensitive kid, I spent my free time on our rooftop singing songs, I cannot even remember anymore. I could not think about anything else other than to follow in my dad’s footsteps, however, dad did not agree with me. He thought it was not safe, especially in “this day and age.” As such once the family moved to Dubai, prior to 2007, Khan focused on his studies and only dabbled in music as a hobby.

Upon meeting Farhad Darya in 2007, Khan was reintroduced to the world of entertainment and music, thus slowly beginning his journey of discovering himself and his talents. Between 2007 and 2013, Khan honed his musical skills with the help of Mr. Darya.

Mir Khan got his first major break on October 18, 2013, when he performed lived with Mr. Darya as a backing vocalist in his Dubai concert. He continued to perform with Mr. Darya across the globe, in countries such as Afghanistan, U.A.E, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Finland until 2019.

In 2015 Khan’s solo-career also took off. He released his first song “Baad E Sabaee“ on May 28, 2015, that got him nominated for the “Best New Singer of 2015” and had him win the award for “Best Video of 2015” at the Ariana Television Awards 2016, the only award show of Afghanistan. He continued to thrive professionally as a solo-artist and has subsequently released over 20 tracks till the date and has performed in concerts and state level events inside and outside Afghanistan.

Apart from music, through his events and media companies, Mir Khan has been awarded by the Afghan & US governments for contributing to the Afghan economy by organizing and managing Afghan products exhibitions outside Afghanistan trough his firms “365 Events & Media ” in Kabul.
